Atami is Japan’s supreme resort area, blessed by warm climate, beautiful sea and mountain views, delicious food, and most of all, natural hot springs (“onsen”). For more than 1500 years, Atami has been loved by many famous celebrities, included Tokugawa Shoguns and prime ministers. During the past century, Atami has been one of the hottest areas for honeymoons.
Nowadays, Atami is becoming a trendy spot once again, both for Japanese citizens and foreign travelers. It is just an hour south of Tokyo (as well as the Narita Airport), and is on the way to Mt. Fuji, Kyoto, and Hiroshima. It is also one of the closest spot from Tokyo, where travelers can enjoy both the Japanese hot springs and local seafood.

Japanese hot spring baths are generally known for positive effects on chemical, mental, and physical aspects:
1) The minerals (a good balance of sodium chloride and calcium sulfate) in the hot springs readily infiltrate into the bodies, bringing about various healthy results. Officially, our hot spring is known to have positive effects on sore muscles, tired nervous system, hormonal imbalance, wounds and burns, painful joints, etc.
2) The psychological effect is also great. Experiencing a “different” environment is known to bring about relaxation and stress-relief.
3) The direct physical aspects of hot springs also work towards people’s better health.
